En. Yurchenko et al., REDUCTION OF NITROGEN-OXIDES WITH AMMONIA IN MODEL AND REAL EXHAUST-GASES IN THE PRESENCE OF HONEYCOMB BLOCK CATALYSTS, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 66(4), 1993, pp. 603-607
The results of comparative studies of the efficiency of honeycomb bloc
k catalysts in the reaction of nitrogen oxide with ammonia in the mode
l mixture NO + N2 + 02 and in the real exhaust gases of a diesel engin
e are discussed. It has been shown that in the latter case the main ki
netic features are the same as those of the pure model mixtures, but t
he activity in the real gases drops approximately by a factor of 1. 5-
2. Compared to bead catalysts the activity per unit weight of the hone
ycomb block catalysts is 20-30 times lower. The testing of the operati
on of a 4ch10.5/13 engine for 300 h showed a stable degree of conversi
on of NO into N2 on the level of 80-90% and stability of the developed
honeycomb block catalysts to the action of SO2.
