Abstract
A simple scheme of the deep-sea (1700 m) anchorage of research vessel Akademik Nikolai Andreev (10000 ton displacement) at the Krylov seamou nt in the Atlantic during a joint Russian-American experiment on recep tion of signals transmitted from Heard island is presented. Behavior o f an anchored ship is described. Acoustic experiments in the ocean fro m an anchored ship are advantageously compared to measurements from a drifting ship.
