Abstract
Rayleigh wave diffraction by an interface between free and periodicall y surface areas under conditions of Bragg resonance is discussed. An a pproximate method for solving an appropriate Riemann problem is propos ed. It is based on the coupled modes method and on an expansion of the kernel of a functional equation into a Laurent series in which leadin g terms are retained. A solution to the problem is derived in integral form, and asymptotics of the scattered field are calculated.
