Abstract
Similarity parameters and scaling laws are established for turbulent a rcs in an axially accelerating gas flow. Turbulent energy and momentum transport is modelled using the Prandtl mixing length model. Radiatio n transport, including absorption, is accounted for using a specially adapted semi-empirical model. The accuracy of the theory is assessed u sing numerical solutions of an are burning in a supersonic nozzle.
