H. Opdenwinkel et al., COKE DRY COOLING PLANT AND COMBINED HEAT AND POWER-STATION OF THE COKING PLANT KAISERSTUHL, Brennstoff-Warme-Kraft, 46(6), 1994, pp. 267-270
The Coking Plant Kaiserstuhl has a coke dry cooling Plant. which in co
ntrast to the generally existing wet quenching treatments fulfills all
the prerequisites of environmental protection and of heat recovery. T
he possibility of a comprehensive heat recovery by the coke dry coolin
g plant leads to a considerable improvement of the thermal efficiency
of the coking process. The steam, produced by the cooling gas in a was
te heat boiler, can be used for electricity and process generation. Of
the electricity generated in a combined heat and power station (25 MW
), 10 MW arc fed into the public grid The paper describes rhe chemical
-technical concept of the coke dry cooling and the combined heat and p
ower station.
