EFFECT OF DEXAMETHASONE ON THE EXPRESSION OF BINDING-SITES FOR HIGH-DENSITY-LIPOPROTEINS IN CULTURED RAT HEPATOCYTES (INDEPENDENCE OF THE HORMONE EFFECT ON THE INTRACELLULAR CHOLESTEROL POOL)
W. Huang et al., EFFECT OF DEXAMETHASONE ON THE EXPRESSION OF BINDING-SITES FOR HIGH-DENSITY-LIPOPROTEINS IN CULTURED RAT HEPATOCYTES (INDEPENDENCE OF THE HORMONE EFFECT ON THE INTRACELLULAR CHOLESTEROL POOL), Bulletin of experimental biology and medicine, 117(1), 1994, pp. 52-55
It is shown that glucocorticoids play a key regulatory role directed t
oward the maintenance of an optimal level of binding and internalizati
on of HDL, in hepatocytes. Their stimulatory effect on the expression
of HDL receptors proves to be independent of changes in the CH content
in parenchymal cells.
