Three patients suffering from synkinesis were submitted to a sharper a
nd more specific training program than those previously proposed using
the Electromyographic Biofeedback (EMG BB) Technique. The patients we
re trained to exert control over the automatic activation of the labia
l commissure during blinking and over the involuntary wink that appear
s while talking or smiling as well as to increase the activity of the
affected hemi-face. A clear decrease of the reflex movement, an enlarg
ement in the facial symmetry, and the utility of the EMG BB for the re
habilitation of the facial palsy's sequels were shown by results.
