Mortierella alpina S- 1 7 cultivated in shaker flasks in the semisynth
etic liquid medium with 3% glucose at 28-degrees-C for 14 days accumul
ated 2.1 g/l of intracellular lipid rich in arachidonic acid (ARA). Th
e content of ARA was 50% of the total fatty acids. The simple method f
or high pure methyl arachidonate preparation was developed.
