Abstract
A five month-old infant presented with gastro-intestinal symptoms foll owed by a multiple organ failure with: shock, status epilepticus, diss eminated intravascular coagulation, hepatic and renal failure. The inf ant survived with major neurological sequelae. The diagnosis and the a ctuality of the so-called <<hemorrhagic shock and encephalopathy syndr ome>> are discussed.
