Ey. Pisarevskaya et al., POLYPARAPHENYLENE FILM ELECTRODEPOSITION ON METAL BACKINGS OF DIFFERENT NATURES AND MORPHOLOGY, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 30(7), 1994, pp. 831-840
Electrosynthesis of an electroconductive polymer, i.e., polyparaphenyl
ene on metal backings with different morphology, is studied. It is sho
wn that, in synthesizing polyparaphenylene from a benzene emulsion in
strong sulfuric acid, in addition to noble metals, base metals and cer
tain alloys can be used as electrodes. It is proved experimentally tha
t differences in the morphology of electrode materials, found by apply
ing the nonstationary electrolysis method, lead to the differences in
both the polymer growth rate and the morphology of the obtained polypa
raphenylene films.
