Abstract
This article studies how the industrial structure of Sweden and Finlan d will be affected by the transformation of Eastern Europe (including the former Soviet Union). Evidence on the industrial structure in East ern Europe and the trade pattern between Eastern Europe and Finland/Sw eden before the transformation is presented. In addition, data on fact or endowments is presented. Finally, we examine the potential structur e of trade and competition in the short- medium- and longrun.
