DIRECTION CORRELATION OF GAMMA-TRANSITIONS IN GE-72 FOLLOWING THE DECAY OF GA-72

Directional correlations of coincident gamma transitions in Ge-72 have been measured following the beta- decay of Ga-72 (T1/2 = 14.1 h), usi ng a spectrometer consisting of a Ge(Li) and a Ge detector. The Measur ements were carried out for 16 gamma cascades populated in Ge-72, thre e of which measured for the first time. The results permitted definite spin assignments to the levels at 3325 keV (3-) and 3342 keV (2-). In addition, several previous spin assignments to other levels in Ge-72 were confirmed. The multipole mixing ratios for 14 gamma-ray transitio ns were determined from the present results.
