Angular distributions of differential cross section and vector analyzi
ng power have been measured for the elastic and inelastic scattering o
f polarized Li-6 by Mg-26 at 60 MeV bombarding energy. The data have b
een compared with the results of coupled-channels calculations using p
henomenological potentials and coupling strengths derived from inelast
ic scattering cross-section data and B(E2) values. The data are reprod
uced by calculations including couplings between the ground and excite
d states of the projectile.
