M. Matsumoto et al., JUDGMENT OF VORTEX-INDUCED OSCILLATION CHARACTERISTICS OF BLUFF-BODIES BY APPLIED SOUND, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 52(1-3), 1994, pp. 229-235
An applied sound system has been newly developed in order to evaluate
the vortex-induced oscillation characteristics of bluff bodies. Rectan
gular cross sections as well as two-edge girder sections have been exa
mined in wind tunnel tests with this system. The correspondence of the
surface pressure fluctuations on stationary sections with the applied
sound to their vibrational response properties are discussed in this
paper.
