A. Leclaire et al., A PHOSPHONIOBATE WITH AN INTERSECTING TUNNEL STRUCTURE RELATED TO PYROCHLORE - RB3NB5P2O19, Journal of solid state chemistry, 111(1), 1994, pp. 26-32
A new phosphoniobate Rb3Nb5P2O19 with an intersecting tunnel structure
has been synthesized. It crystallizes in the R3cBAR space group with
a(H) = 12.989(2) angstrom and c(H) = 53.912(6) angstrom. The host latt
ice, related to the pyrochlore framework, is built up from ''Nb6O27''
and ''Nb3P3O24'' units which share their corners in the (001) planes,
forming [Nb2PO8]infinity layers. These layers, connected through NbO6
octahedra, delimit large cages along c which contain the rubidium ions
. The cages are connected through hexagonal tunnels running along [210
]H. The relationships with pyrochlore and Rb10Nb29.2O78 are studied. (
