Fresh seeds of Allium unifolium geminated within 50-70 days at 5-degre
es-C, but germination was strongly inhibited at temperature above 10-d
egrees-C. Dry stored seeds (9-10 month's) germinated in darkness or un
der light conditions at 5-degrees-C at nearly the same rate as fresh s
eeds. Germination of seeds of A. cernuum, however, was inhibited at lo
w temperatures and at 30-degrees-C. Optimum temperature was 20-degrees
-C under dark and light conditions. After 10 month's dry storage germi
nation at 30-degrees-C was reduced drastically.
