Abstract
We have studied the quadrupole effects in pion elastic and inelastic s cattering from Li-7. A single channel alpha-t cluster model is used to calculate the wave function for the ground and the first excited stat es of Li-7. The quadrupole effects are shown to be appreciably large i n pion-Li-7 elastic scattering. We also calculated the second-rank ten sor polarization and compared it with the recent experimental data.
