Verrucous carcinoma is a rare form of squamous cell carcinoma. It beha
ves as a slow-growing, locally aggressive and rarely metastasizing tum
our. Three clinical cases are presented, with emphasis on clinical pre
sentation, pathological diagnosis and therapeutic approach. The pathog
enesis of verrucous carcinoma, including chronic inflammation and huma
n papillomavirus, is also discussed.
