Abstract
We describe qualitatively and quantitatively the penetration of solven ts and mixture of solvents into solid polyethylene by nuclear magnetic resonance and magnetic resonance imaging. We show that the penetratio n in general obeys Fick's law and that the behavior of mixed solvents is quite different from that of the pure components.
