Abstract
An approach which 'consists of a combination of measured one-bond and three-bond carbon-proton coupling constants, Karplus-type relationship s and theoretical calculations was used to precise the conformational properties of carbohydrates in solution. Several examples of such trea tment concerned various neutral oligosaccharides, methyl 4-thio-alpha- maltoside, 3A,6A-anhydro-cyclomaltohexaose, and (1-->4)-linked alpha-D -digalacturonic acid.
