M. Tomaselli et al., AN RF-DRIVEN NUCLEAR SPIN-DIFFUSION EXPERIMENT USING ZERO-ANGLE SAMPLE-SPINNING, Chemical physics letters, 225(1-3), 1994, pp. 131-139
A zero-angle sample spinning approach to obtain high-resolution solid-
state spin-diffusion spectra is Presented. During the mixing period of
a two-dimensional spin-diffusion experiment, the rotation axis is ali
gned parallel to the external magnetic field and suitable multiple-pul
se sequences are applied to enable efficient polarization transfer ind
ependent of the chemical-shift separation of the involved nuclei. The
cross-peak intensities in the 2D spectra can be used to characterize t
he domain structure of inhomogeneous solids. Variable temperature expe
riments are carried out on dl-camphor. The suppression of spin diffusi
on by molecular self diffusion is used to characterize the molecular d
ynamics.
