Abstract
A novel approach for photohydrogen production from a combined system o f Halobacterium halobium, Phormidium valderianum and Escherichia coli is reported. Hydrogen production was several times higher in the combi ned system than with Phormidium valderianum alone. Various conditions were optimized and continuous hydrogen production was achieved for six days under cyclic illumination at 30-degrees-C.
