Abstract
Impact melts of albite jadeite and pyrex glass subjected to shock expe riments demonstrate the losses of Na and Al relative to Si. This could be explained by selective vaporization. It is suggested that the high volatility of Al is related to the formation of NaAlO2 compound. The similar loss of Al and Na is assumed as one of tektite formation proce sses.
