Abstract
An electrochemical model approach for the instable 1-ion and 2-ion tra nsfer through ultra thin membranes is presented. The model considers a potential dependent gating mechanism which controls the ion transport through the membrane. Aim of the theoretical investigations is a more profound understanding of mechanistic aspects of the excitability phe nomena at biomembranes.
