BATS OF SICILIAN ISLANDS .2. USTICA

This second contribution to the knowledge of the chiropterofauna of th e smaller islands around Sicily deals with the presence of bats report ed for Ustica (Palermo), with historical and new data. Besides four sp ecies also known from museum material (Pipistrellus pipistrellus, P. k uhli, P. savii and Eptesicus serotinus) a fifth one, Tadarida teniotis , has been recorded with ultrasonic device. The UTM distribution maps for the five bat species recorded during a survey in September 1991 ar e also given.
