The scalar resonances a0(980) and K0(1250 - 1430) are suggested to be
the isoscalar and isospinor members of a conventional, i.e. quark-anti
quark, SU(3) octet. This result follows from the use of a Resonance Sa
turation hypothesis in Chiral Perturbation Theory and should be releva
nt when identifying the remaining unflavoured, isoscalar members of th
e multiplet, and, possibly, the related scalar glueballs.
