Starch-stabilized colloidal catalysts for water oxidation are synthesi
zed on the basis of Co(III) hydroxy compounds. Their catalytic propert
ies are found to be mostly affected by the starch concentration, the s
ynthesis temperature, and the nature of the buffer solution in which t
he catalytic reaction proceeds. The reasons for such effects are, stud
ied. The composition of the colloidal catalyst is proposed.
