A child with severe haemophilia-A is reported who developed an extensi
ve spinal extradural haematoma. He was successfully treated with inten
sive replacement therapy after attempted surgical decompression failed
. The importance of early diagnosis is stressed and the potential valu
e of magnetic resonance imaging for monitoring haematoma maturity is d
iscussed.
