A clone of the complete cDNA of the bovine cation independent mannose
6-phosphate/insulin-like growth factor II receptor (IGF2R) was used to
demonstrate the location of the gene on bovine chromosome 9q27-28 by
fluorescent in situ hybridization. This gene is the first to be locali
zed on BTA 9. The human IGF2R locus maps to HSA 6q25-27.
