Mg. Quaglia et al., USE OF CAPILLARY ELECTROPHORESIS FOR TESTING THE STABILITY OF A DRUGSMIXTURE IN PERFUSIONAL SOLUTION, Il Farmaco, 49(6), 1994, pp. 403-406
The quantitative analysis of aminophylline, methylprednisolone-21-hemi
succinate and furosemide in perfusional solution by capillary electrop
horesis is described. The electrophoretic runs performed in phosphate
buffer at pH 8 allowed the separation of aminophylline, methylpredniso
lone-21-hemisuccinate and furosemide. In order to improve the selectiv
ity of the separation of the three drugs from their degradation produc
ts, the background electrolyte was supported with 30 mM of sodium dode
cyl sulfate (SDS). Reproducibility standard deviations of migration ti
mes and peak area ratios (internal standard method was used for quanti
tation) were in the range 0.25%-2.98%. UV spectra have been made in or
der to confirm the identity of the degradation products.
