Abstract
Terbinafin in daily dose 250 mg was administered to 112 patients with fungal infections of nails of hands and feet for 12 weeks. The patient s were followed up for 36 weeks after the treatment. Mycologic cure wa s attained in 73 % of patients administered the drug and in only 6 % o f placebo group patients. The treatment had to be discontinued in 2 pa tients because of terbinafin side effects; rio noticeable deviations w ere observed in results of laboratory analyses. These results permit a conclusion on the efficacy and safety of terbinafin 12-week course fo r patients with nail dermatophytosis.
