Griseofulvin therapy was administered to 17 patients with various clin
ical manifestations of lichen planus, including 1.1 with nail changes
combined with characteristic papulous changes of the skin and buccal m
ucosa, 2 with papulous lichen planus without onycho-dystrophies, 2 wit
h verrucose forms of lichen with infection foci on the nail walls and
palms, and 2 with Lassauer-Little's syndrome. The authors emphasize th
at the efficacy of griseofulvin therapy of lichen planus depends on th
e process duration and type and on the drug combination with other the
rapeutic measures, such as histoglobulin injections, courses of dodecy
l sulfate, nail cleaning and intermittent rubbing into nail walls of s
teroidal creams and compositions including vitamin A and 1-2 % salycil
ic acid.
