Abstract
All-optical deflection and spatial filtering have been used to theoret ically model pulse shortening and shaping. Good agreement is obtained with the experimental results of other authors. Pulses with a shorteni ng coefficient of the order of 10, special forms as super-Gaussian, tr iangular-like, and pairs Of pulses with an adjustable peak-to-peak rat io are obtained.
