Abstract
Stimulated Raman excitation (SRE) of polyatomic molecules provides an efficient and general means for studies of mode specific chemistry. He re we present a simple method for quantifying the amount of vibrationa lly excited polyatomic molecules that can be created using SRE and dem onstrate that excitation of vibrational overtones in polyatomics is al so possible.
