1,2-Disubstituted imidazoline derivatives were prepared from reaction
between an aliphatic polyamine and different carboxylic acids. The pro
ducts were tested for their corrosion inhibition efficiency on mild st
eel at varying concentration in 15% hydrochloric acid bath. For each i
nhibitor compound, the optimum concentration required is worked out. T
he study reveals that these products can successfully be used as acid
corrosion inhibitor for mild steel.
