Abstract
Intra-articular radiation treatment using dysprosium-165 ferric hydrox ide macroaggregate has been performed on eight patients with refractor y synovitis of the ankle. Seventy-five percent (six patients) responde d well to the treatment, and there were no complications from the inje ction. Although ankle synovectomy is not often indicated, those patien ts with rheumatoid synovitis without significant joint destruction res pond favorably to radiation treatment.
