Abstract
In the rat, the acute administration of the antidepressant drug chlomi pramine significantly reduces the edema and the hyperalgesia induced b y yeast injection in the paw. However, the intensity and time course o f the two effects differ. Moreover, adrenalectomy enhances the antinoc iceptive effect, whereas it does not affect the antiedema action of ch lomipramine. Our data suggest a dissociation between the antiinflammat ory and the analgesic effect of acute chlomipramine.
