QUALITY OF CLEANING QUANTIFIED

Guidelines for evaluating concentration of dust on non-textile furnitu re and floors, and carpets are suggested, based on a source control ap proach. They are based on experience from about 5000 single surface du st samples in Scandinavia, mainly from offices. A sampling strategy is formulated, and simple decision rules for compliance are given. The w hole concept is closely linked to a special surface dust sampling meth od. The surface sampling strategy and evaluation strategy opens up a n ew range of possibilities for quality control and cleaning method deve lopment.
