Abstract
The microstructure of Nd34Fe60O6 alloy was characterized by means of s canning electron microscopy, Auger electron multiprobe, differential t hermal analysis, thermomagnetic analysis and X-ray diffraction techniq ue. A stable Nd-Fe-O ternary ferromagnetic phase Nd36Fe54O10 is found. The Curie temperature of this phase is 245-degrees-C. It forms via a peritectic reaction of Nd2Fe17 and Nd-rich phase at 840-degrees-C. The relation between this phase and the phases found in the Nd-Fe system is discussed.
