S. Muller et al., ADDITIONAL HEART-SOUND IN AORTIC-ANEURYSM CAUSED BY PROLAPSE OF THE DISSECTION FLAP INTO THE LEFT-VENTRICLE, American journal of noninvasive cardiology, 8(2), 1994, pp. 112-114
An uncommon middiastolic click was heard in 2 cases of dissecting aort
ic aneurysm. Transesophageal echocardiography revealed prolapse of the
intima flap into the left ventricle. The rare but specific auscultato
ry finding of an additional heart sound may prevent wrong treatment by
thrombolysis for suspected myocardial infarction.
