Mj. Stones et al., ANTICIPATING ATTENDANCE IN REMINISCENCE THERAPY WITH MEASURES OF MOODAND HAPPINESS, Social indicators research, 32(3), 1994, pp. 251-262
Nineteen community volunteers for a reminiscence intervention were gro
uped into those attending no more than one-quarter of sessions and tho
se attending approximately three-quarters of sessions. A model of psyc
hological well-being was used to discriminate these groups. Prediction
s from the model were confirmed in two analyses: attendance was relate
d negatively to baseline mood but positively to baseline happiness; th
e acute/chronic environmental discrepancy term of the model was negati
vely related to attendance. The model correctly assigned 16/19 (85%) o
f subjects to attendance categories.
