Ev. Ermilova et al., THE ZOOSPORES OF THE GREEN-ALGA CHLOROCOCCUM-MINUTUM STARR CALU-746 EXCRETE AN AUTOREGULATORY FACTOR AFFECTING THEIR PROTEIN-SYNTHESIS, Russian journal of plant physiology, 41(2), 1994, pp. 194-196
Adhesion of the zoospores of the green alga Chlorococcum minutum Starr
CALU 746 to the substrate surface is a prerequisite for their further
differentiation into the vegetative cells. This process depends on pr
otein synthesis and is accompanied by increased synthesis of a 30-kD p
olypeptide. The zoospores excrete an autoregulatory factor to the medi
um that stimulates 30-kD polypeptide synthesis and zoospore adhesion.
