Abstract
N-Pentafluorophenyl aromatic aldimines have been prepared in good yiel d by the condensation of N-sulfinyl-pentafluoroaniline (obtained from refluxing pentafluoroaniline with excess thionyl chloride) with aromat ic aldehydes. The X-ray structural analysis of N-pentafluorophenyl-4-m ethylphenyl aldimine C6F5N = CHC6H4H3-4 is presented.
