R. Kadono et al., CRITICAL-BEHAVIOR OF ELECTRIC-FIELD GRADIENT IN MNSI STUDIED BY MUON LEVEL-CROSSING RESONANCE, Hyperfine interactions, 85(1-4), 1994, pp. 259-264
The electric quadrupole interaction of Mn-44 nuclei was studied in the
weakly ferromagnetic system MnSi using muon level-crossing resonance
(muLCR) technique. The temperature dependence of the electric field gr
adient (EFG) shows a critical behavior near the ferromagnetic transiti
on temperature, indicating that the EFG due to the conduction electron
is strongly correlated with the magnetic susceptibility in the itiner
ant electron magnetism. The temperature dependence of EFG is in reason
able agreement with the self-consistent renormalization theory develop
ed by Moriya and coworkers.
