Abstract
Transport reduction has been applied to control the oxygen content in iron oxide mixtures; the Fe2+/Fe3+ ratio can be controlled in a bulk m ixture of iron oxides within +/-4.2% by using this technique. Surface oxide phases Fe2+/Fe3+ can be varied from 0 to 100% of Fe(II) on TiO2 and Al2O3 and from 0 to 33% of Fe(II) on SiO2.
