Abstract
Analysis of scats of Cape clawless otters Aonyx capensis from the King na River, a tributary of the Breede River, shows that throughout the y ear mainly freshwater crabs Potamonautes cf. perlatus are eaten. Insec ts and mammals are next in importance as prey, followed by fish, but f ew frogs are taken.
