Abstract
The Sterphus cybele species group is revised and four new species are described: janzeni Thompson (Costa Rica & Panama); calypso Hippa (Boli via); cydippe Hippa (Columbia); and venezuelaensis Thompson (Venezuela ). The phylogenetic relationships among these are venezuelaensis + ((c ybele + janzeni) + (calypso + cydippe)). A new key to the species of S terphus is given.
