K. Pirselova et S. Balaz, ACIDITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND INTRACELLULAR-DISTRIBUTION OF IONIZABLE SUBSTANCES, Chemometrics and intelligent laboratory systems, 24(2), 1994, pp. 193-196
The description of the bioactivity-hydrophobicity-acidity profiles for
monovalent acids or bases represents an application of our published
treatment of distribution of ionisable compounds undergoing eliminatio
n in biological systems. The approach is applied to the literature dat
a on growth inhibition of Sarcina lutea by lincomycins. The model exhi
bits satisfactory agreement with the experimental data. The results in
dicate that incorporation of elimination into the pseudo-equilibrium m
odel improves its quality.
