The possibilities of experimental verification of theoretical predicti
ons for cluster-decay probabilities in a new nuclear region near the s
hells with Z = 50 and N = 50 are considered. The experiments on produc
tion of Ba-114 in the nuclear reaction Ni-58(Ni-58, 2n) are carried ou
t. The detected C-12 particles can be formed as a result of the cluste
r decay Ba-114 --> C-12 with a branching ratio of 10(-4) - 10(-5).
