Abstract
Carbon disulfide liquid was irradiated by Hg lamp at room temperature. Solid phase was obtained by the photochemical reaction of ultraviolet light, which was analyzed by EPMA, TEM, FT-IR and XPS. (1) It was pho to-polymerized compound of carbon and sulfur rather than a mere mixtur e of products of photolis. (2) It was nano-crystalline or almost amorp hous. (3) The bonding manner was different from other CS2 solids prepa red by high-pressure, plasma-polymerizing and anion catalyst technique s.
